Since 2005, the International Primary School has been the first and only bilingual school in Potsdam.
In view of the high attractiveness and success of our English department led by native speakers,we are a sought-after school. Parents can choose between a German or English-language class.
Our concept is based on the reform pedagogical principles of Montessori pedagogy, the framework curriculum of the state of Brandenburg and our bilingual curriculum.
Our focus is on the continuous improvement of language competence and the development of a basic understanding of mathematical and scientific contexts.
We integrate a daycare centre, preschool ,primary school and comprehensive school in our institution. Currently 66 daycare children and 520 pupils are educated and taught by 45 teachers and 18 educators. We offer a continuous school programme from daycare to Abitur.
Our main goal:
Encourage children to find their way.
Our school culture is founded on an equitable student-teacher-parent relationship and an open culture of feedback. We provide a school culture in which all talents are developed and nurtured, diversity is valued and no pupils are left behind. Everyone gets the chance to accomplish themselves personally.
Internationality and individuality guide our schools language and science profile.
In addition to health-promoting teaching principles, we maintain an open feedback culture, an eye to eye student-teacher relationship, and emotional and physical security.
The students themselves are always the starting point, driven by their curiosity, search for friendship and role models, and their own identity.
We provide a framework for this that is constantly developed further.
Our pedagogical diversity is visible through various offers in the areas of social relationships , diagnostics and counselling, and the promotion and challenge of individual learning.
Our trustful cooperation between parents, students, and teachers strengthens our students on their journey to adulthood. Collective reflection and feedback talks are crucial components of our school culture.
Our close and international school community teaches students the basics of further education and life-long learning.
